  • We recommend no more than 10 people from one organization at this time.

  • Together we are stronger.  Not one person can make change. Likewise, we are going to be contextualizing problems and building solutions in real time. Thus, we highly recommend teams apply (we have a question on the registration application for this).  Please read, review, and share the following documents: OPSS Registration Application Instructions and Copy of the Registration Application.

  • We are offering a basic certificate in addressing obstetric racism in QI and ImpSci. BCR is an independent organization with no academic affiliation, and we have not sought academic inquiry to obtain CEU/CME for our first summit.

  • Yes, we are in the process of creating future opportunities for ongoing learning, which will be kept private and confidential as BCR seeks copyright, trademark, trade secrets, and patent protections. BCR will also be sharing information to particular groups by invitation only. We will require OPSS attendees to sign non-disclosure agreements because we are building a movement as we beta-test many of our proprietary tools, trainings, and techniques.

Before OPSS 2024, join us for Birthing Cultural Rigor’s Inaugural Obstetric Patient Safety Summit “FREE” 4-part webinar series titled, Diagnosing and Dismantling Obstetric Racism in Birthing Hospitals, June 1, 2024 at 12:10pm – 1:40pm. • The Sankofa Adinkra symbol originates from the Akan people of Ghana and means "to go back and get it."  OPSS facilitates system transformations grounded in truth-telling, transparency, and trust. Thus, the incorporation of the Sankofa symbol in the OPSS logo best embodies the ethos of OPSS: "We reflect on the past. We reclaim our humanity in the present. We restore the sanctity and sovereignty of Black births and Black lives in the future." -Karen A. Scott, MD, MPH, FACOG
